Akilah E. Kamaria is Founder of Hemancipation, a Los Angeles-based Lifestyle Management firm that
specializes in assisting men in transition during the challenging times in their lives. Her relationships with
a worldwide network of clients and experts throughout the art, luxury, and family office arenas provide
Hemancipation with a strong foundation. A former United States Marine, Kamaria is known for her
compassion and straightforward approach in helping her clients survive and even prosper during transitional
periods, while designing a signature lifestyle that moves them forward with positive trajectory. Based on her
experience during her tour of duty in the Marines she has a can-do attitude and a common sense approach
to addressing life’s challenges.
Before establishing Hemancipation, Kamaria was an Information Technology Consultant working in
Global Trade and Foreign Exchange for Barclays Capital in London UK, Mellon Bank and other
top-tier global financial institutions where she gained valuable business instincts and insight.
